I replaced a shock absorber about a year ago on my 07 cherokee. Recently I can hear a rattle noice (metal on metal) when traveling over bumps. After a little inspection myself I found that the top of the absorber has a cap and the cap is loose. I can move it with my fingers and it rattles. See pics below. Any ideas on how I can make this tight again or do I have to replace the absorber? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

 

My advise to you: ask a jeep liberty owner!
