1995 Cherokee country, 4.0, aw4 trans. Just went for a drive and the shifter would not go into the 1-2 postion. It shifted automatically just fine in the 3rd and OD postions. Last time I drove it last saturday on a fishing trip in the mountains it physically shifted into the 1-2 postion, no problem. What would cause this is? And how do I fix it?

 

Problem solved. Took off shifter **** and reinstalled. That was all it was.
