Default Shift light on '89

I know I have a shift light, but it never comes on. I looked around at some connectors and looking at schematics its supposed to work. can't trace the wire down. I think its a short. 89 4.0, 5speed blah blah blah..

be kinda unusual if it actually worked though haha

well. if you are looking to fix it, id say start wit the fuses, but i think they are fine as it is just the shift light. next, look at wiring and the relay for it. jeep wiring is notorious for weakness... it might be more effort than its worth to fix as you might have to end up behind the instrument cluster. wait till there is another issue, or you have an upgrade or aftermarket part to install before tearing into it?
