So, this is gonna sound stupid but, how the hell do you get the shift **** off of an AX15 shifter? I've been messing with it and can't seem to figure it out haha

Pry the part with the 1-5 & R on it. Remove the nut & it shifter will spin off.
Be warned, when you pry it out you will just about destroy the ****. Anyone got a tip on how not to ruin it?

Sorry about that. OK then just skip the kryptonite and try this at your own risk.
Follow the stick to the bottom, and there will be a rubber gasket/cover. Pull this piece up out of the way. There is a small piece that the shifter goes through, brass colored. Push this piece down and turn about an 1/8 to 1/4 turn counter clock wise, the whole stick will pop out. very easy.

Btw, I removed the shift ****, you do have to pop the H pattern cap off and there is a nut under it. Unfortunately, the shift **** I wanted to put on wouldn't fit so I had to put the jacked up one back on

Yeah, want a Hurst shifter really bad but can't justify the cost.
If my Jeep stops breaking things, I always wanted to put in one of these:
