Default Shaking Problem

my 96 xj needs an alignment pretty bad and today while driving at about 50mph it was shaking really bad, not quite like death wobble but still pretty bad. The wind was blowing pretty hard i don't know if this would have anything to do with the shaking. it is bone stock no lift i just wonder if the front end being out of alignment and strong winds would cause this.

Old tires can cause wobble, balance, alignment, rotation, bad track bar, old and worn out steering components in general.. Get it all checked I suppose.

My jeep would wobble around the same MPH as you, I got my lift and new tires, along with a whole front end job with new stabilizer and alinement, no more wobble.

Check your tie rod boots, mine are 24 years old and in terrible condition. Still only get moderate shaking on the highway so I'm sure once I replace em they'll go away.

Get an alignment and a COMPREHENSIVE inspection of every front end and steering component while it is on the rack.

Even if it isn't true death wobble, what you are experiencing can have the exact same "root cause".
