Default Shackle rattle

So I was getting this rattle on bumps. I thought it was my rear drum brake, like a broken spring. Took it all apart and fould out that one of my leaf spring shackles (not the boomerang shackle, the one that holds the packs together) was loose. Is this common? Can i just hammer it shut or down to a thicker part of the spring? Thats what I did, moved it down about 2" and its tight now.

there should be a small hole on the underside of the leaf pack.
on the spring clamp, there is a dimple. that dimple should fit in the small hole.
then just hammer it back down, or better yet, go to a spring shop and grab some new ones.
