How does the bolts come out in the rear of the xj that go into the unibody

just a ratchet and socket (forgot what size.) it should just come right out unless its froze in there

How do I get to the nut on the back side by gas tank?

Should be a weld nut in the "frame" rail. If that is spinning, things are 'bout to get ugly.

Yep. Take it nice and slow. I broke the weld nut loose in there on mine and boy did that ever suck.

if you broke the weld inside the frame rail then you opened a whole can of worms.. do a search on here or on NAXJA on the correct approach to get it out.

We just did the leafs on my cousin's new(ish) jeep. Broke the weld nut on the frame side of the leaf. OMG. Be careful not to do that.

Spray it immensely w/pb blaster. Aside from the beginning, if it starts to feel really hard to turn, stop. Although, it may be inevitable. I think we broke it loose because we had to cut the bolt and it was partially still threaded. We had to move the spring side to side to break the bolt and it popped off the welded nut. I've heard of many other people breaking it off, and it's not the end of the world, but if you can, avoid it.

ive done a few lifts and have never had that bolt break.. only the front eye bolt for the leaf spring.. if you havent broke it yet you should be fine
