Serious Overheating Issues
I have a 91 with 204xxx miles on it. Its been running fin for the year that ive had it up until fri. Weather shot up to 112 (astronomical for MD). I was coming out from the store and I noticed fresh coolant under the car. The upper rad hose had a hole in it. I bought a few bottles of antifreeze and babied it home. when I got home I replaced the tstat, water pump, and hose. Still over heating and the overflow resi goes dry after I let it sit and cool down (dont have the slightest clue where it is leaking from now). The last time I test drove it, it was idling real erratic like. Any suggestions?

You sure it was actually full after you replaced everything? As the engine cools coolant will be sucked back in from the reservoir. If you did not have enough it could of ran the tank dry.

Check your oil for coolant.Check your plugs for coolant. You are in the danger zone for a blown head gasket and or cracked head.

Ya it was at full after I replaced everything but it was kinda at full when I pulled the lower radiator hose. I was surprised at the amount of coolant that came out. Didnt seem like much but then again I was expecting the whole system to drain...

They aren't that hard, just make sure you go get the head checked out before you put it back on

That's where I'd start. Rad can easily be plugged and not leaking. Clutch can be free wheeling too much.
