Engine: 1987 4.0L (242 CID) I6 RENIX FI 242 173 hp (129 kW) @ 4600 rpm, 224 lb•ft (304 N-m) @ 4000RPM
I had a smiliar issue, did a complete engine tune up and it would start.
everything was new/good.
Turned out to be a combination bad Ignition conrtol module (ICM) and bad stator.

Engine: 4.0L high output with compressed valves
i have a voltage regulator wired externally anyone know how to undo that so that i dont have an effing check engine light on twenty four seven cuz i got a new ecu and dont have to have the check engine light on anymore
