Well... In an XJ, you can tint your windows, fold down the back seat, lay down some blankets and......... Take a nap

Many years ago we discovered that if we put a four foot garden hose in dad's old '65 Dodge and applied a good vacuum, we'd get a good supply of cruisin' juice. It didn't really help with mpg, but it really decreased our dollars per mile.

If you lube up the muffler bearings with ATF and fill the blinker fluid with
liquid nitrogen I've heard of people getting 50 MPG's easy on an xj.

BTW, my jaw hurts from laughing so hard from this post

The main things that I've done to gain MPGs are:

1) Remove the serpentine belt, that thing will really bog the engine down.
2) Run the AC at all times, it helps keep the engine cool, so it runs more efficiently
3) Fill up with 93 octane and ALWAYS use the "jet fuel" octane booster from Walmart

Do these things and you'll get 55-65 mpgs in town no problem
