Default Seat replacement

Any recommendations for better front (non-powered) seats that would bolt easily into a 1990 XJ Pioneer and perhaps be more comfortable/give more room to slide back? Basically I wanted to see what upgrades you all may have done using pick-n-pull or similar. Plus I'm sort of a big dude and need a tad more room up front.

My buddy did ZJ front seats in his. Very comfortable. But, his is a 99 and it was easy to do. Your floorpan is different and you would need to modify the seat tracks but I'm sure someone has done it.

I tried both ZJ and WJ seats in mine. The ZJ seats sat up higher then the factory seats in my 96. It was a problem since I'm 6' and my head was up on the headliner. I ended up keeping in the WJ seats since they were more comfortable plus had more head room. The only thing i see different with the WJ seats are they do sit a little closer to the dash then my factory seats did. Both ZJ and WJ seats bolted to my factory seat brackets with no issues.

Do you think I'd have issues trying those in my 1990? I wonder how different the brackets are, for example.

That's what I'm wondering, too. The brackets changed somewhere along the line. I thought it was with the newer body style.

In 96 the floors changes. Just use the seat bracket from your factory seats and bolt them to the new seats. That way there is no problems.

Anyone put the ZJ seats into a 95 and earlier XJ?

Bolt the ZJ seats to the brackets you take off your factory seats. They will work.

I have a '94 - will the brackets move over to a ZJ seat?

Edit: sorry meant WJ.

My driver's seat-back is bent back. It is the non movable 4 door kind. I have a set of clean bucket seats out of a '91 Chevy 3/4 ton van from an old project. Would these fit in my '87 XJ and still give me decent headroom? (I'm also 6')
