seat belt stuck in the locking mech
So long story short, my seat belt got slammed in the door while it was being shut, and with my luck the belt is right where the door locks and unlocks. the belt is literally right where the hook is for the door to open. now its stuck shut, i cant get the seat belt out, any advice? i tried to pull the belt and wiggle and move it around but it will not budge.....
i dont want to have to cut the seat belt and replace it all,.
this is the seatbelt stuck in the door from the inside.
this is the view from the outside, its kinda blurry but u get the drift.

Thanks for the update. I was kinda unsure how to approach that without a detailed teardown of the lock mechanism.

door is shut w/ seat belt stuck in mechanism
Hi there,
I've got this same problem, but my situation is a bit of a deeper problem - my door is shut w/ seat belt stuck in mechanism. I simply thought the door didn't close all the way, so I gave it the 'booty-bump' to close it fully. Now I cannot open the door. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

I had this happen to a coworkers jeep a few months ago (a little troll of a coworker). I worked the mechanism with a flat head and had a buddy pull while I pushed from the inside to no avail. I walked inside to grab some soap to lube it out and another coworker came over and just opened the door from the outside by pulling up on it a little. Who knows if all the crap we did to it helped.

thanks. You just saved my butt. I had visions spending the night tearing out seats and door panels to get at the mechanism.lucky i said to myself.."myself go check cf . You cant be the only the chump this has happened to"
i tried lifting the outer handle it did nothing
then i lifted the outer handle and under the arm rest and it popped open
thanks again all

another solution
I tried the kick from the inside solution, with one person kicking and another holding both door handles open, inside and out with the window open. No luck at first but I then pushed super hard on the outside handle button, its very stiff when you push it all the way in. After kicking, this opened it. I will now lubricate all the door and seatbelt mechanisms.
