Default Sealing rear diff

I'm changin the gear oil in my c8.25 today... How should I seal it up when I'm done? Rtv?

a good RTV will be fine.

let it set a little bit before your fill the oil

A good layer of black RTV will do the trick. Lubelocker is a waste of money in my opinion.

To much work cleaning RTV off all the time dry gsk little oil on the housing and reuse over and over again

That black can set pretty fast if it's hot. I would put it on snug right away, then tighten it a bit later. You don't want a bunch squished into the works inside! I guess the blue gives you more time, and the orange is suppose to be better for high temp.

Use gray permatex rtv its made for gear oil and its what chrysler uses

How frequent does one change gear oil.....frequent high water crossings or high gear loads? If so, LubeLockers seem like a good idea if u do frequent changes....if not, how could u beat a FelPro gasket with a thin film of RTV on both sides?

Just snug on the cover bolts, don't crank 'em down hard.

This, plus Lube lockers you don't have to wait to set, bolt up, torque down, fill up and go!!

The MOPAR stuff is grey but that doesn't mean it's the same stuff as Permatex grey. SRT techs told us to use orange on SRT8OC.
