"...not being able to register the title in my own name."

In my state, the title is what conveys ownership. Period.

Maybe yours is different.

Good luck.

The rig is clean there is just a few other problems with the previous owner, but legally it is mine, according to a bunch of different contracts, the only thing that says its not is not being able to register the title in my own name.

Thank you for all of the advise, i will post update on whats going on, to my build thread, again thanks for everything, your advise and time is much appreciated!
At least you know that it isn't stolen and that they wont be coming after you for that. I hope that it does work out in your favor.
Good luck!

i had a similar problem. I just called the city and said the PO abandoned it at my shop and then sent him a storage bill. They towed it charged him for the impound and then I went after him for storage fees. He will think twice before jerking you around after that. But I bought it from the impound auction for next to nothing.

scrap the jeep. I know that if it has no liens against it and no theft report I can scrap it with just a handwritten bill of sale in Alabama.

Well you can revive a 10 year old thread that is for sure! Don't know if the OP is still in the same situation after 10 years have passed for it to help him now, though!

Welcome to the forums! It is easy to miss the dates of the post you are replying to when you first start!

This is what we call a zombie thread. There are two features called Related Threads and Infinite Scroll that were implemented during the last major forum update. Many disabled both long ago, for multiple reasons. Myself included. I would not be surprised if some of the zombie threads popping up have been a result of those features being enabled. They can be as helpful as they are a hinderance.

User CP > Control Panel > Settings & Options > Edit Options. Scroll down to Thread Display Options and select Disable Related Threads, and Disable Infinite Scroll. Save changes.
