Saving a Cherokee Thats sat for 10 years
Hey Everyone, New to the forums here.
I work for a Car lot/Body shop and we Deal with alot of wrecks. Ive been looking at some jeeps for a while and my boss comes out of the closet with a jeep he has had sitting for quite some time, Since 2000.
He's a Procrastinator and He admits it. He got it home from the auction and parked it. And just left it for the dirt.
Its a 96 Cherokee Classic, 4.0 S6 It Has not been started since it was parked. I figure it will need a new fuel tank. But enough with the bull*****, Heres a few pics.

Don't give up on her that quick. That would be a great trail rig. On the positive it looks like it could be pushed and if you plan to wheel you song have to fear damage.

I dont think you will ever get the uni-frame to be true again, But it would be great for the trails or parts. I bet you can get a pretty penny just for the interior from people like me that hate the pre 96-97 interior =P

Spend an hour over there trying to get it started, if the fuel pump is bad you should be able to get it to fire with starting fluid. If not then its probably got a lot more problems then just a fuel pump..

I agree if a vehicle sits for that long i would change the oil and ALL fluids (T-Case, Diffs, Gas, Cooling, etc.) Like stated the fuel pump and a battery. Your brakes could quite possibly need work after sitting for a decade. This is just what I would personally do to start, but i hope it offered some info.

If i decide not to straighten that quarter, I can go ahead and clip a new one in. 200$ for quarter, 200 for hatch. Bumper about 70. And a fuel tank/pump and all for about another 80-100... Has both quarterglasses intact in the back seat.

He wants 2K out of it. Yes I said it... But I believe i can work him into supplying the parts to fix it too.
