Saggy ****.
I have a 2000 XJ 4d 4x4 and I love everything about it other than the fact that the rear leaf springs have gone from a smiley to a frown. In fact the driver's side spring has gotten even worse than the passenger side, almost a scowl if you will (maybe that is a sign I need to lose a pound of two).
My question revolves around installing new springs. I think it is past the point of AAL and I want something that will last. Will a new set of OEM medium or heavy duty springs fix this AND last AND what kind of ride can I expect? I am not looking for a lift kit, I want to keep my heep OEM or somewhat close to that. Am I better off going with an aftermarket spring or staying OEM?
Thank you.

FWIW I added a set of Hellwig spring boosters.
My preference to these is that the rear ride height is now adjustable when towing.

Thank you all for the replies. I have my homework cut out for me. I think the best choice will be a full replacement as soon as $$$ can cover it. It still makes me shake my head looking at all the stock jeeps going down the road in this same condition, why did jeep not spend a few extra pesos on a better quality spring from the beginning?

the up country package was an attempt to better leafs, but i agree. there are some things- like the wiring- that could just be a little better... so old man emu is an ARB company? cool! no wonder they are good quality. id like to do a full 3" rustys lift, but having trouble finding the 600 bucks to do it right. an AAL is just a band aid, but it sounds like OME is a good band aid...
