well thats why im here...to learn.
This being said I am debating the 3.5" lift now with 31's even tho I dont like it as much.
I did get a lil testy there at the end.
Oops. I just think of my ex-wife and how she was the "look at me type"
Then just got a bad taste in my mouth and went on a tyraid.
Oh well.
It happens to the best of us. Just takes some bawls to admit it. I dont take personal. I dont like the "look at me type" but got the jeep from my uncle when he passed. $1500 with a strait body, 100,000 miles, and great shape overall. I would have bought 4x4 if I was in the market for a new one.
I told ya straight up what you will need to do it RIGHT. You will have a lot of other opinions of other guys that cut corners and what not.
For 4.5 inches of lift and 32's you will need stuff even on a 2wd vehicle.
I agree and am of age now I do things right the first time instead of half ace and then having to fix shat later down the road every other weekend. I figured I could do the lift, wheels, tires now. Do the gears later since I dont drive all that much. I know it will be slower but I dont mind...not trying to race anyone.
For lift.
Longer driveshaft
Can I do this down the road or will the stocker not work at all?
Adj Control arms
Note taken...will be considered/done if I go 4.5"
Adj track bar
Will be done if I go 4.5".
a drop pitman arm.
Is this not given in most kits?
Longer Brake lines.
Most def plan on these.
For tires
Planned on the BFG Mud Terrains (figured they would looks sexy in a mall parking lot hahaha...sorry had to joke about it)
Are ya using stock rims. if so then prolly some wheel spacers or adjust your steering stops.
Getting Procomp 1069's 15x8's
If you want any take off then you will want better gearing in the rear diff. *** 3.55 gears turning 32's will scream.
On my list of things to do. I dont need to race around town in the yeep...got a motorcycle for that
Just a lot to consider when lifting a vehicle
Lastly, sorry bout the whole mix up on here. Ill def post pics and updates of what I end up doing.

no, I dont even know of anyone that makes a SYE for a 2wd AX-15
as far as the crossmember, they might be the same, but not sure
you have the remember the tailshaft for the 2wd is alot longer as well as the output shaft

the lponger tailshaft could create vibes with a lift it will be more angle in the shorter distance
its all in what you want to do and how much you want to spend. Either of the two kits mentioned or Rough Country will get the job done for you. Things to consider
Rusty's typically good priced but ridiculous shipping fees
RE high priced and no shocks
Rough Country great price and great service and great shipping cost plus if you mention you are a forum member theres an additional 10% off
all of the kits quality is going to be about the same. We are talking about major companies not some shed in the backyard making lifts. To much liability to willingly and knowingly ship crap product.
As far as ride quality then you got to understand that its part spring rate and part shock valving, All three companies are really close in spring rates, so its wheres the better shocks (bang for buck)
just my well educated (and bias) 2 cents

The Rustys comes with adjustable control arms. I will do me some thinking and make a decision tonight I suppose.
