BDS is very popular amongst the wrangler crowd, I cant speak from experience but I would be willing to give them a shot if the opportunity presented itself.

Looks like a bad tie rod end, not a trac bar. Just my $.02.
That being said, I don't plan to buy any of their products due to other things I've read about them as well.

I've got BDS...Beefy parts, and a good rep....this is not the first issue I've heard about Rusty's...but I have no personal experience with them or their products...
Maybe someone from Rustys could be made aware and comment on one of these threads?
I know Kevin from Kevin's Off Road is on NAGCA and comments where he feels it's required...

I personally would not trust any of Rusty's products from the things I have read on different forums. They are cheap to purchase but again you get what you pay for. I don't think the design of their kits are bad but the quality of the steel is in question. The part that seems to have snapped on that Jeep was the adjustable trackbar and the TRE from their steering "upgrade" kit. Both parts seemed to have cracked and the crystallized steel is indicative of improper heat treating. That is done in mills that use a lower temperature to heat treat the steel, thus the outside surface has an improved hardness but the interior become crystalline in makeup. This in turn acts like a brittle pipe b/c the internal part of the steel is very brittle and the external is inflexible. You now have an accident waiting to happen. Any amount of stress and the outside cracks and the internal crystalline structure shatters. Cheaply made Chinese steel. Nuf said!

Isn't he running the RE long arm kit? Or is it full traction? Both of those companies provide trackbars so why was he using rusty's?
I am betting the trackbar was bent previously from over-articulating. This bend became a weak point and gave away on the road.

A good or even stock trackbar's job is to keep the axle centered and is subject to some flexing to accomplish that task. The rusty's is a larger diameter bar than the OEM bar thus should have been stronger. It should have withstood the stress of flexing. The poor quality of the steel used to manufacture it is the cause of the brittleness of the trackbar's make up, thus the fracture at the locking nut.

thats the tre that comes with their tracbar, he uses the cheapest garbage to keep costs down, i have seen more rustys tie rod end failures than any other part off and on the road
