Rusty windshield pillars corners.....what causes them to rust?
Well I've decided to keep my XJ for a long time (I'm at 164,000 right now and I want to put another 100,000 on it). I've decided I need to por15 the inside of my floors to get rid of some surface rust. I am also coating everything under the truck with chainsaw oil and wheel bearing grease to keep the salt off (I also have to make some access ports to spray oil inside my rocker panels). Now what I'm asking is about the other rust issue Cherokees have.........at the top corners of the windshield. I've noticed on other XJ I've seen with the problem they rust from the inside out. Where is stuff getting trapped? Can I acres this area through the headliner? I'm trying to keep my Cherokee clean and other things to make it more driver friendly.

Leaking wind shield gaskets. Make sure the weather seals on your door windows are not old, dried out and cracking. They let the rain get in the doors and rust from inside out.
