I was wondering what is the diff between rustys 3in kit http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ode=sus_xj_kit and rustys 2in kit http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ode=sus_xj_kit cause the 3in is cheaper than the 2in which is wierd

The 2 inch lift you looked at probably had full rear leaf springs and the 3 inch lift probably had AALs.

I justed looked them up and they are both AAL kits. To top it off the 3 inch kit has a rear brake line extension brackets and the 2 inch does not. More parts, less money. What a novel idea.

Do they both have front springs or does one have a front spacer for the lift?

Both kits have coils, AAL, front and rear shocks, and new ubolts. The 3 inch just has the additional rear brake line kit.

Maybe just a mis-print on the website but, I'd jump on it. That's the only way you'll get a good deal from Rusty's. The have excellent equipment but, high prices and even higher shipping.

Rebuild the engine and keep it. 96 is a good year. In 94 Jeep added side impact beams to the doors and strengthened the roof. In 96 they added some extra supports to the general body shell to increase its strength that year. For offroad use, a 96 4 door is one of the best bodies to choose from. Less body flex when the suspension flexes.
