My jeep has several minor rust spots on the doors/rear quarter panel and roof along with a major rust spot on the rear hatch.
What's the best options for doing this on my own?

Hmmm rust my specialty.
Grind down all the rusted spots to bear metal, If you break through then cut out till your edges are good metal. If you can weld then weld a piece of metal in there.
If you can pick up a rivet gun and rivet some fresh sheet metal in place then your preferecne of paint of rhino and what not.
Here is my rust bucket
Lots of good info on that in this thread

Awesome. I cannot weld or even rivot. I'm pretty inexperienced in ANY body type work, but I feel like I want to try and fix rust spots, especially since my jeep is going to be a beach baby, I'd better get used to rust!
The side spots are light, nothing major. The roof I haven't gotten real good look at, but I believe it's just surface and peeling. The rear hatch is definitely through. Maybe I'll be looking at a autoyard replacement..?

You can't rivet!!!
All you have to do is drill a small hole stick rivet in and squeeze the rivet gun plier thingy. It is not complicated at all and if you own a jeep a 20 dollar rivet gun would be a good investment. Real Simple to use.
Any holes that are rusted through you need to cut all rust away you can save your hatch and spend the money you would have spent on the hatch for tools. If you own a Jeep you will need to make an investment in tools cause shops charge way too much to fix stuff now-a-days and we are here to help you with all the DIY projects hell if you are close enough there are a-lot of members that would come out and help you with anything for a 12 pack ya know. Post up in the neighborhood and host a mechanicfest. Click here for Our CF neighborhood. Supply beer and dogs and we will show up, granted we live close enough lol.

Thanks so much Stryker. I love this jeep, but it was supposed to be my hubby & I's project vehicle, and since he passed about 2 months ago, I'm freaking out.
I'll def. take your advice about the 12 pack helpers!
