Ah so that's what that means. 4.0 system only has the IAC that can do that (and cruise if so equipped)

Be sure the little tube from the inside of the throttle body, back then up to the MAP sensor on the firewall is FLAWLESS! If that get's bumped, cracked, clogged no doubt that's trouble.

X2 on the grounds. Might be a brown/white stripe at both the map and TPS. Less than one ohm from there to battery negative is peachy! Cruiser's link in checking earlier jeeps is in my signature.
Tps is new. Changed it with the iac when i pulled, cleaned and new gaskets on the tb. Checked the tube. It looks good and clean. Swapped the map with a buddy's and it's good too. It's fired up every time since, only yesterday morning did it act up. I will check on the ohm's though just to make sure. Also i will check that link tonight Thanks everyone for the help!

So after starting first try this entire time it decided to do it again. I shouldn't have to hold on the gas during start on a fuel injected motor but it's the only way it'll start.

Have you flow tested your injectors? Or do a swap with your buddy to see if there's an issue in that area?

Check your air filter?

Any vacuum leaks?

The ECU will cut off the fuel when you crank it floorboarded. If you are flooding the MAP, or more likely it's little tube are messed up. Did you check the map tube?

There is a map test here>>http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...iagnostics.htm

Also there is a link to plenty of Rinix info in my signature. Even though it's a 92 I think plenty there applies.

I'll have to look up how to flow test them. Air filter is good. I haven't found any leaks (yet)

It will only start floorboarded when it acts up. It's the only way I've gotten it to start. Otherwise the starter just spins and it stops making an engaging sound (best way I can word it). Not like it's not connected but that extra spin it puts out every 4-5 spins. I have pulled the tube and cleaned it with cleaner. I will check on that map test and keep you guys informed. Thanks for the help!

Moisture getting on or in something? If the CPS frosts up you would get a weak signal for start up. O2 sensor and or possible IAT would cause a lean or rich respectively(I think)? Did this just start with the late winter onslaught?

It started 3 weeks ago. In cold and warmer weather. Now I am on a 6 inch lift and the previous owner I'd cut some ugly ***** holes in the hood. So plenty of air gets around it. But it started up right away during the snow storms with snow on it. I brushed it off as best as I could obviously. Pic is reference for the holes. It's only done it 4 times now but it's nagging me chasing ghosts. Iac is new as well. I listed all new parts in first post if it will help.

Getn' the TPS wet messes it up. No idea though if that's your issue, but something to consider.....Stuff getting wet, then freezing can't be good. I'd find a hood pronto!

Yea. Waiting on the money for that. I've dielectric greased every connector under the hood possible but rents first obviously.
