Default running hot?

so since summeer is now around my jeep runs hot with or with out the a/c on. with the a/c on it get up to probably about 220-225. the list of new cooling system parts are as follows, new radiator, trans cooler, fan clutch, fresh 50/50 coolant, new stant thermostat, and thermostat housing.

the weird thing is that during the winter it runs cool, at like 160 degrees, so i dont really understand it. i have tried several differnet thermostats for the running cool issue.

back to getting it to run cooler right now, i was thinking about hood vents.

any ideas would be appreciated.

With a top notch cling system vents really shouldn't be needed.

And how old is this water pump? Replace as suggested, esp if its original.

if you squeeze your upper radiator hose when your jeep is up to temp and can feel a noticeable surege of water when you loosen your grip then your water pump is just fine. i dont know what year your jeep is but if it has a closed loop cooling system they are a pita, to get filled up properly so it could have some air trapped or just be low on coolant. also is your a/c fan running when you turn on a/c?

meant to mention it also has a newish water pump, and the a/c fan is kicking on aT 212 OR WHEN THE AC IS ON. it does have an oversize trans cooler so i dont know if that might be part of the issue? no leaks at all

should of mentioned it is a 1997 cherokee 4.0 automatic. without running the a/c it will run at about 212-215 when hot and in the city. highway is 210.

trans cooler or radiator could be plugged up id try flushing the system before junking the radiator. as a few others have said check the thermostat... they have a tendency to get stuck; wether its stuck open or closed. when / if you do buy another get a stant thermostat they are much beter than the cheapo the parts counter guy will try to sell you; still baffles me why they throw the cheapo at you first, without mentioning the better one. also you might try to run some redline water wetter in your radiator to help cool you down.. i just converted to your style cooling system and love it my temp sit around 200 or so at idle or doin 75 on the freeway.
