Theres the rubber, for lack of a better word mat that goes from under the Rad to under the engine. What the hell is it and do I need it? My jeeps a DD. It seems to soft to be any kind of air deflector.

Most guys tear them off when the "slop shield" starts to tear away from the rivets.

You can buy a new one, but most guys just leave em off.......

I had to trim mine where it somehow came into contact with the driveshaft and ripped leaving a section dragging on the ground under the Jeep. I know I have seen threads about replacing it with your own rubber matting material, but I don't seem to be able to find them right now. Your only option may be making your own.

My '00 came with one. Well most of it. I ran across one in more usable shape in a boneyard. Got it free. I don't off road anymore. If I did probably would not run it. Figure all the crap from being in the mud, what I like, would be all on top of it and I would be taking it off constantly to clean. But since I don't thinking it might keep a little heat in and I figure the alt is down there so maybe a little protection. This one looks available for $75. Says fits '94-'01.
