Just when I start to feel good about this machine, something comes up. Haha
this morning, driving down the highway my rpm and mph gages went to zero and the check engine light came on. No drop in speed or power whatsoever. Then they came back. A bit later my airbag light came on. Then it went off. Wtf?
engine seems to be running fine.

Check your grounds. Start wiggling wires to see if you can recreate the issue. Sounds electrical. Look for splices in the wires, burnt wires, broken wires or missing wire sheathing.

Common problem with the connections behind the gauge cluster. Next time it happens push on the plastic I bet it stops immediately.
There are a few solutions but I cant remember them it's been a few years for me lol

That's exactly what it is. Been there, done that. What fixed it for me was pulling the cluster and bending each of the pins on the two connectors just a tiny bit so they made better contact. I also shimmed the female connectors on the dashboard side so they sat a millimeter or so higher up.Originally Posted by TrailerTrash
