Default royal purple

So my Walmart has started handling royal purple oil. I'm thinking about switching from syntec to royal purple with a rp filter. Soooo the $52 question ($62 actually) is what are the benefits of royal purple oil. My engine has less than 70k miles on it. Is a syntec mopar filter combo good, bad, OK? I know this is kinda a beating the dead horse subject but just wanna hear opinions. This rig is gonna be a trail/mud rig after sat cuz I'm welding my spider gears so its not gonna see lots of miles anymore. Thoughts?

Also... this is prudent to out 4.0's

"Do your motor oils contain zinc and phosphorous?
Yes. All Royal Purple engine oils contain the zinc/phosphorous compound zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate (ZDDP) and are suitable for both roller and flat tappet valve trains".

From Royal Purples site.

Why doesn’t Wal-Mart have more product?
We do not sell directly to Wal-Mart. Any product that is being sold to them is being sold without our knowledge or involvement.

Flat tappet motors (4.0) require more zinc and phosphorus to run efficiently

I had thought this thread would get more answers than this. I'm really not too thrilled to pay $2 more a quart for royal purple.

Synthetic swap at high miles is iffy, it could help or make your life hell.

Wal-Mart is NOT an authorized Royal Purple dealer.

That is why Royal Purple said ....

" We do not sell directly to Wal-Mart. Any product that is being sold to them is being sold without our knowledge or involvement. "

Now that makes me wonder .... where does Wal-Mart get its Royal Purple product from and is it truly Royal Purple?

Now I have no info on the Royal Purple sold at Wal-Mart being anything other than Royal Purple product, but when you go outside the manufacturers authorized retailers, there is that risk.

Diesel, in the long run dont you think cleaning everything up would be in a high mileage vehicles best interest?? I know you may develop some leak here or there because of the cleaning being done initially on the inside where the Sludge was blocking that leak.

End of day though that leak needs to be fixed and now your good to go inside and out..

Walmart may be testing a "new" (new to their normal) product to see how it performs.

Has anyone seen the RP jugs now held at O'reillys??

The stuff I found on YouTube is good stuff. The dyno tests are pretty amazing too. And yes this is legit royal purple oil.

If your not doing oil test with your oil that you are choosing to use you do not know if it is working. UOA send it off and have it tested.
