rounded plug
so i took my jeep in for a oil change and wal-mart and they rounded the transmission check plug . so i wondering how to get the plug out to replace it and what size sock it is the fill plug on the transfer case

Dont know what its called though.
You will lose about a gallon of trans fluid (dexron III) when you pull the trans pan plug.
I just used a good pair of channel locks and was super careful on the big tcase bolts. Make sure you can get the fill plug out first. You dont want to drain it and then be screwed with an empty tcase. (tcase uses Dexron too)

vise grips... make them tight enough to break your hand then a little tighter. you can tap on em with a hammer to loosen it, then dont go back to walmart for your oil change.
and defiance since hes got a trans check plug im betting its a 5-speed, rather than the pan drain plug.
