Sears sells removal sockets for stripped nuts and bolt heads. Looks like helical teeth inside the socket. Full set of sizes for $40, got a set 2yr ago for Christmas. A godsend when you own an old jeep. They do work. SnapOn, Matco, and other brands have similar item. I've tried some of the others. Sears is qualtity at fair price on these.

I've used a bolt out kit that works pretty well, similar to this one.

yeah, what those guys said. I bought a "bolt out" kit when I was trying to replace the supercharger on my then-GF's VW Corrado. The idiot that replaced it last messed up the heads on these socket head cap screws that held all the brackets together, one of them was recessed into a hole in this aluminum bracket and wouldn't you know it that was one of the ones that stripped. I thought it was a gimmick tool but it walked that sucker right out in seconds. Saved me from having to pull a lot more stuff than I already had and some painful drilling.

Oh, and never buy a VW with the G60 motor. That is all.
