i never ran an re kit, nor a rough country kit.

but have seen both in action.

rough country comes with a garbage tracbar relocator bracket that lowers the trackbar to become a rock magnet, when hit this often loosens and contributes to deathwobble.

the kit doesn't come with brake hoses, thats something you have to buy separately (extensions are teh suck)

the rear leafs (full leafs) are nothing special and like to sag rather quickly try 4.5" to 2" over a period of 10 months

shocks are garbage, having seen a 10 month old kit been disassembled 3 of the 4 shocks didn't work.

^Keep in mind what I said... It's about 95% on road. I dont live near any trails and for sure won't be doing any rocks because there are none for miles... Im doing the lift for the look, and occasionally off-road. Maybe like 5 times off-road through the summer...

You can get away with the RC kit, keep in mind that with the RC kit you will most likely be spending more money in the long run where if you went RE you would be spending more up front but the kit will ultimately last you a longer amount of time.

I plan on upgrading shocks right away since thats not to costly, but what else will I be replacing? Plus i've heard Rough Country's quality control has went way up in the past year or so...

Your going to need front and rear brakelines (+/- 30$ if you go with YJ lines) and I would get an Adj Tracbar to get rid of that POS tracbar relocator. On top of that I would get some UCA's.

What shocks are you planning on running?

If you want to keep the total spent under 700 then I would recommend sticking with the shocks that RC sends you because with shipping you wont be able to stay under 700 with a decent set of shocks.

with the full spring pack and the nitro shocks my kit came to about $750 or so I also added the control arm relocate kit so it totaled $1000 shipped.

I am in the middle of the install right now.

I cant complain at all with my RC kit. I personally love it, yet i have had no experience with any other more expensive lift but i have abused it a few times and cant complain. Great lift for 250 dollars. I even went with the AAL and the rear leafs still are not sagging more then any other full Pack would after being broken in. seriously if your under a budget go for it. Here is a picture of my 3" Rough country lift with 31's
