Default Rough Running after manifold change

Hey guys.
I had a cracked exhaust manifold on my 94 that was driving me nuts so i swapped it out the other day. After i got done, I went to start it up and it took a very long time for it to crank. Im gonna say at least 20-30 seconds or more of the starter running. And when it did start up it ran like crap, wouldnt idle well at all, etc. So i killed it, checked over my connections and stuff to make sure i didnt leave a hose or connector unplugged and cranked it back up. Again long crank time, and runnin like crap. What should i start with to check?

vacuum leak from intake manifold, or o2 sensor took a crap like mine.

but it sounds like you got a large vacuum leak

what kinda of manifold did you use?

I got a stock replacement from work. I used a Fel- Pro one piece intake/exhaust gasket.

Spray starter fluid all around the gasket while it's running. Listen for any change in the way the engine is running.

Don't singe your eyebrows off.

It's a good idea to coat the gasket with a copper gasket spray. This helps to fill imperfections in the gasket and mating surfaces. But also X2 on the vacuum leak.

Did you have a rougher idle/running motor BEFORE the exhaust manifold swap?

Does having a cracked manifold mean you will have a rough idle?

It was not running badly at all before. Just made a ticking noise that drove me about half insane.
