Rough Idle - ONLY when started and engine is warm - WTF??
i also have this problem in my 95 (4.0) 5-speed... no matter if im at idle or driving it will hesitate... while in idle it will drop down to 300-400 rpm and almost die then the rpms will shoot up to around 1500ish on its own... while im driving no matter what speed/rpm/gear im in it will do it unless i push in the clutch & shift then it will be fine... if i just try stepping on the gas harder it will bog even more... it has new plugs, wires, dizzy cap, & fuel pump/filter
where do you get these heat sheilds at? ive been to several parts stores and also the jeep dealership and all the guys have looked at me like ive got 5 heads...
Hi, are you still having the rough idle issue? I am dealing with the same thing and was hoping maybe you could shed some light? Mine does it worse when I put it in gear. I've tried everything.
Thanks,
Rick

Don't mind for the pics.
That's your hot air conveyor for the winter cold starts. What is missing is one of those crappy carton flexible tubes that connects it to the intake by-pass on your air filter box, just behind the left headlight.
Typical "disappearance" on the older ckees...
