Roof Rack lighting
I have a Thule MOAB rack with some light tabs i fabed up and welded on it, installed on my 99 cherokee, and I have 4 hella 500's to put on it. I got all the wiring to the inside from the battery and relays, thats no problem, im just curious has to how other people ran the wires to the lights on the roof through the roof? im still contemplating on how to do this. let me know. thanks.

i ran mine all the way back along the side of the rack (inside small black tubing) and through the top of the tailgate, and right behind the moulding down then behind the moulding the whole down the side.

If drilling holes in the roof is the way you want to go just pull the headliner out and drill you a hole. Then run the wires on top of the headliner to one of the molding pieces by the windsheild and run it down through there to behind the dash. Very clean install except for you need a very strong bonding to keep the roof from leaking.

I ran my wires inside the factory roof rail, removed the end cap drilled a hole in the roof with the headliner removed, ran the wires and siliconed the hole shut. No leaks in 2 years.

I drilled a hole in my roof, but I plan on keeping my jeep till it dies. Just pull the headliner on one side. CAREFULLY drill you hole... dont punch through your headliner. Use an old wire antenna and guide it through the hole and out your headliner. Tape on the wires you want to the guide wire, and pull it through.
To seal the hole use black roof patch. It comes in a tube like silicone. I've never had a leak.

I ran the wires the exact same way as XJJEEPTHING. I added a quick disconnect on the roof so if I ever need to take the rack off, I just have to unplug the lights in one spot and pull the rack and lights off all in one. Let me see if I can find the post where I have some pics.
