I'm a bit baffled by this.
Is it possible that having a roof rack causes death wobble?
I've had the rack on and then off then on and then off again to try and figure this out. When I have the rack on at like 75MPH when I hit a bump or a long stretching turn I get the death wobble. When I have the rack OFF it handles much better in general, and I have no death wobble.
It's an old-school Conferr rack. I can't explain it. Can you???

the added wieght of the rack is making the worn components of your steering rear their ugly little heads at high speeds.
sounds like bushings or ball joints.
start researching DW and the causes and go from there.
process of elimination to find the problem...
