Default Roll pin replacement question mid 80's Dana 35

I've got some maintenance to do on my Dana 35 which requires removal of the roll pin that holds the cross shaft in the carrier. I've read to NEVER reuse the old one. Is there a specific part number for this roll pin or can i just go to the hardware store for one?

What maintenance requires that also older dana 35s have a 5/16 head bolt.

The "maintenance" i guess could be considered an upgrade...I'm taking a locker i pulled out of my 1990 3.55 geared c clip Dana 35 and installing it into this 4.11 geared 1986 non c clip Dana 35.This rearend doesn't have the bolt...The 1990 rearend did have the bolt.
