Default ? on rod bearings and crank...

just pulled the engine and broke it down, oil pressure was at none after warming up & a knock on the first start up is the reason i did this........... main bearings look good.....silver in color with no wear marks. the rod bearings are copper colored but look good as far as there being no obvious sign of damage. arent the rod bearings supposed to be silver and if they are do u think the crank could be damaged or is this a normal even wear ........??? the cam bearings are silver and look great. im gonna change them all and have a new cam put in to be safe. im gonna try to get the help of a machine shop if i can afford it. 1992 cherokee sport straight 6. 5 speed

Yes rod bearings are supposed to silver, call local machine shops most have pretty much standard rates, meaning whether its a SBC or Jeep 4.0 will be the same for said work, so theyll can give you a good estimate over the phone. Youre most likely gonna need to have the crank at least polished.
