Hi all, recently got a 92 cherokee as my first vehicle, and plan to use it everyday as well as to access some of the mountainous areas surrounding me. It is stock as it sits and I thought It would be nice to do some work on it myself, and have a bit more ground clearance for some slightly bigger tires. But one of my main concerns is on-road handling and I dont want to throw that factor out the window with the addition of a lift. As I've read on here the 3" OME lifts seem perfect for what I need. And in the process of searching for them I came upon the Rocky Road "budget" lift kit and the price tag on these kits is much more appealing than the OME I was looking at. But it would seem that with anything, car parts especially you get what you pay for. So I thought I would see what you guys think, the lift can be found here

and I was looking at the 3" kit.
Thanks

I have the RR 2" BB and am very happy with the quality of the parts. Shackle is very beefy, and the BPE's included are also very well made.
Of course, anyone can make a poly spacer for the coil up front, so that is not unique. A 1.5 inch lift block will stress your leafs concerning axle wrap, especially with shackles. What I did to get that 3rd inch in back was to obtain a stock Cherokee leaf pack from the junkyard, and insert the long leaf (with ends cut off) right below the existing main leaf in my pack(s). You will have your leafs opened up to install the 1/2" lift block anyway, so it is not much added effort to install another leaf. Got one solid additional inch of lift from this. Ride didn't change much, a little firmer, but not stiff. For the front, obtain some Grand Cherokee V8 coils from the junkyard, and along with the poly spacer, you will have 3" up front. I made the mistake of using GC coils from a 4.0 litre. Only got 1/2" from this, but thats OK, cause I often carry loads in back, so it rides level when loaded. I clear 31's with proper bumpstopping and minor trimming.

I wouldn't mind doing some extra work to get it to ride at 3" but I don't have a junkyard anywhere near here. So whatever I end up with needs to come with everything I need out of the box. And I will not deal with companies with poor service. Anyways Thanks guys, I'm going to keep looking

Yep, do some research on Rocky Road.. i'll never deal with them again.
Check out the Rubicon Express 3" kit. Send a few PM's to our vendors here asking for quotes, you'll typically get better prices from dealers vs direct from RE.
You live in a beautiful area.. was out there a few years ago and rented a cabin in the NF outside town.
