I plan to replace the rocker panels on my '94. The place that has them also shows what they call backing panels. Would like to know what they really are, and where they are.(??) 'Kinda sounds like they would be behind the rockers someplace (?)

 

I found a vid that I think may be helpful. If you are going to off road your Cherokee, some people replace the rocker with a 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 steal tube. Great if you get into the rocks.
