To start I'm lazy and didn't do a search for my problem so if this has already been addressed please point me in the right direction.
I need some advice on what direction to go in now that the bracket that attaches the passenger side lower control arm to the axle housing that now has been completely sheared off. A while back my throttle got stuck full open and to avoiding 'mounting' the car in front of me I drove it into a curb before I cut the engine off. Shattered the bead off of my alloy rim and shifted by axle a couple of inches to the left. It's not my daily driver so I have been driving it like that on short trips for sometime now until last night. I was just starting to go down a steep hill when I herd something dragging on the ground. I got out to look and found my lower control arm had completely come unattached from the axle housing, the bracket holding to the axle was still attached to the control arm, FU**. Luckily I wasn't far from a road so I was able to nurse it back without causing anymore damage. Called AAA and had it flat bedded back to my spot. I'm looking just to bring it back to factory specs but am on a very tight budget so a complete axle housing swap out would be out of the question.
I am thinking of having some new flanges fabricated up and having them welded to the axle tube if this is even possible? Would they be strong enough? Would there be a chance of melting my axle seals if not removed prior to welding? Anything else that I may have overlooked if I attempted to do this?
Does anyone know of anyone selling after market flanges/brackets for the dana30 that I could buy off the shelf?
Or am I just screwed now and need to purchase a whole new axle housing?
another note to is that I would like to replace the lower and upper control arms with something a bit beefier than the factory ones but my XJ is still at stock height but I do plan on doing a 4" lift on it sometime in the future. What would be your suggestion(if any) for upper and lower control arms that would be adjustable enough to be used at stock than later at a 4" lift?

I think you are referring to the control arms, their are 4 control arms, 2 upper, 2 lower. The track bar is the large bar that mounts to the front passenger side of the axle on one end and the frame at the other. you can order new weld on brackets for the control arms if that's what you need, a quick search will tell you where to find them...................

Yea control arms, my suspension terminology is not good. Thanks for the clarification. If I where to wed some new brackets on is there any chance of melting the axle seals?
Found the brackets at http://www.bluetorchfab.com/Product/...Arm-Mount.aspx
Are these any good or does anyone else have any other suggestions?
