Right hand vs left handed drive serpentine belt ?

Right hand vs left handed drive serpentine belt ?
Would getting the incorrect specified belt effect anything such as grip on the pullies becuase i am having a voltage issue with most variables ruled out, because im pretty sure i was given a right handed vehicle belt.
