hello

i'm having some problems with my '95 cherokee 2,5td -VM engine. i recently changed the head gasket and got the heads resurfaced (don't have the right word in my head.). soon after that gasket change the car started to blow black smoke specially when cold. there is less smoke when it warms up but it's still there.

there is also lack of power when it's cold.

2 weeks ago i took the EGR valve out and oil'd it so it was running smoothly. since then i hace driven about 1500km (about 1000 miles) and now i have "check engine" light on.

at startup the engine is more noisy than usually, for a few seconds, and then the idle runs ok but the light comes on and the rpm meter is dead.


can anybody help me with this?
