Read some stuff on Grass Roots Motor sports that seemed good but all the stuff on BITOG was negative.
Who knows? This could be another case of "Those who haven't done something are telling those of us who have done it that it can't be done".

I have a 96 XJ with over 300,000 miles on it and a noisy motor.
Already began the search for a replacement motor when I found this thread.
I had just completed an oil change with Rotella, wanting to see if the engine noise changed, not that I expected it to and it did not.
So I said what the hell and picked up a can of this RESTORE stuff.
I pumped out enough oil to make room for the RESTORE.
Poured in the RESTORE as the engine was running and was quite pleased to hear the motor really quiet down.
Now the real test was the noise at cold/warm start, where it typically has been the loudest. I parked the XJ and let it sit for about 5 hours and restarted it. The motor was noticeably quieter.
Now to be honest, it did not get rid of 100% of the noise but you really have to listen close to hear that there still might be something amiss.

You still guys still plan on doing that rebuild? It's great that it works, but arguably so do the radiator stop leak products. I'd love to see what the engine looks like after running this stuff.

Ive used restore twice in the past year, not because i had to, but because i wanted to see the difference between vehicles.
used once on the Jeep and it was alot quieter (minus the exhaust noise) and didnt have jumping rpms at idle.
also used it once on my 97 Mitsu GSX, same results and worked even better with the turbo on it.
there's another 2 success stories for all that are skeptical.

Back about 20 years ago I put it in a Z24 Nissan I4 engine that was running fine but had high mileage... I saw this on TV claiming to help restore compression and boost performance so I picked up a can and put it in... 2 days later the motor seized
I can't say that restore was or was not at fault but it was a good enough sign for me to never use it again...
