reverse rotation?

ok i found a dana 30 out of a 95 xj to swap in on my 87 xj with the disco...im assuming it is a hp dana 30 because of year, it has 4.10 gears, its 50 bux i cant pass it up.. but how do i know if its reverse rotation and if it is would it work on my xj? i dont know about reverse rotaion can someone educate me on this?

i know when they started im asking if it will work without changing anything on my 87 it says reverse rotaion therefor im curious as to what that means? im confused. mine is a vac disco

HP D30's started getting used in 84' the first year of the XJ.. so HP D30's were used from '84 to 'mid '00. I say mid cause I've seen '00 with both a HP and LP and they were all stock.. Like all things Jeep most changes seemed to take place mid year..
And yes you can use a non-disco axle in your 87' I'll be doing the same swap soon in my '89..

good i figure you can beat 50 bux for a hp dana 30 with 4.10 gears, truss and aussie locker for extra 100 so im gonna get a dana 30 with 4.10 gears with aussie locker for 150....good deal to me
