reverse light switch
hey all, jsut in time for inspection my reverse lights quit lol. so i replace both bulbs and still nothing. so im thinking its the switch mounted on the tranny.. used to be able to giggle the shifter a little bit and them work but that quit lol. maby i could be wrong.. what do you guys think?

what tranny do you have? if its an auto i know with mine that the reverse switch is built into the nuetral safty switch. and mine did the same thing till i took it off and pulled it apart and cleaned it. then they worked just fine. here is a link to how to clean it.

I forgot to mention to be careful when removing it as some people break it by being in too much of a hurry. It has to come straight out, don't **** it sideways.

ok looks like its more than i barganed for lol i was hoping it was just tak the old one out and put the new one in. but thanks guys ill probly be working on it tomarrow or the next day. and il let you know how it goes

well i got it out last night. boy my jeep is nasty under neath lol going to take it apart in about 10 to 15 min and hopefully it goes in easyer than it came out.

goes in a ton easier, just be somewhat gentle sliding it back on. When you take it apart, make sure both of the little brass pieces in the arm move freely (they have tiny springs under them). One of these was stuck on mine, which caused my issues.

well i figured out the problem lol it was nice and gunky have pics. waiting on my dad to get back with the dielectric grease.
