Reverse light issue

Most likely its the nss (neutral safety switch), but just to be sure check the wiring.
The nss is a pain and expensive to replace. So i wouldn't worry it if its just the lights, but might eventually lead to your jeep not starting in park (would have to start it in neutral then).

my 96 does the same thing, most of the time they dont work ,but sometimes if i wiggle the shifter around in reverse they come on.

Here's connector wires ID

I have the same problem but I have an AX-15 5-speed transmission. Same fix or is it a different issue? My reverse lights don't work at all.

awesome! took me about 45 mins to take the nss out, apart, clean and reinstall. the lights work like new again, starts in neutral, but had to adjust it a lil bit.sweet
