Sometimes my reverse lights work and sometimes they dont, what could be wrong with them?

Most likely its the nss (neutral safety switch), but just to be sure check the wiring.

The nss is a pain and expensive to replace. So i wouldn't worry it if its just the lights, but might eventually lead to your jeep not starting in park (would have to start it in neutral then).

It's a cinch to repair.

Pull this connector apart to check your NSS.

Here's connector wires ID

And continuity at each shifter position. Have Fun!

I have the same problem but I have an AX-15 5-speed transmission. Same fix or is it a different issue? My reverse lights don't work at all.

Manual transmissions dont have a neutral safety switch. So your issue is most likely the wiring
