I have a 97 xj sport automatic that it's not getting power to the light plugs. If you shake the gear shift the lights will go on and off plz tell me what this could be all fuses are good

 

Have any trouble starting your jeep recently?

 

Piece of cake...The Neutral Start Safety switch also acts as the reverse light switch. This witch just keeps the vehicle from starting in anything other than Park or Neutral...When you mess with the gear shift you are making it touch places it's not corroded or worn.

 

Where is this switch located sometimes I hav to put it in neutral to start

If you are to the point of putting it in N to start find it and fix it or learn how to bypass it so you don't end up stuck in the middle of nowhere when it goes up like I was finally.
