Out of curiosity, did it just start doing this? Does it still do it if you put it in another gear first, then into reverse without letting the clutch out? Mine always grinds a little if I do not do that...
It looks like it is mentioned in the linked article as well.

Ehh, every manual has a problem with reverse. I either ease mine in real slow until it halfway clicks and then jam it in or option number 2 is the AX-15 shuffle which is putting it in another gear first and quickly shuffling the shifter over to reverse before it grinds. I usually prefer the AX-15 shuffle, but depends on how bad it is, sometimes it just goes in.

the reason it does this is because reverse does not have a sycro most older manuel trannys do this. are you moving when it does this cause that will make it worse

I had problems with my sycros in my AX15 from my TJ. I would grind from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes from 2nd to 3rd, and into reverse. A guy on a TJ forum was telling me that the stock Chrysler fluid recommendations actually slowly corrodes the brass syncros. He told me to switch over to Red Line Synthetic, which I did, I think it was 75W90, It was around $50 bucks. Long story short all of my grinding immediately stopped, and I never had another problem with grinding gears.

Here's the link, you can buy it from Red Line directly
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=46&pcid=7
The MT90 should be the stuff you need for and AX15
Good luck, I hope this fixes your problem so you don't have to replace the syncros!
