Anyone know the best cleaning product to use to restore the black fender flares and bumper end caps back to black. I know there is something called Back to Black but I tied it and its NG. Please dont reccomend something unless you have tried it and know it works.

Sprayed gloss black over the stock grey/silver 3 years &180000 km ago with Krylon Plasticoat (works on resin lawn furniture as well). Has held up well. Currently abused from stone chipping and debris off the tires. Could use another go, perhaps this summer during some resto work. Cleaned the surface real good with soap and water, air blow dry, wipe down with a little alcohol. Then hang and spray, let it dry, don't rush it. Pic is year 2, summer 2010

No way to "clean" them back to black. I painted mine w/ Krylon Fusion plastic paint. The paint sticks well and lasts. I've read of others using dyes, and even heating up with heat gun.

If you want to take the time to remove all that stuff, taking a propane torch and heating them will make them look new again. Definitely dont try it with them on the car!

Just be careful not to burn yourself or melt the plastic. It does work though and last a long time.

Back to black works, just gotta apply it a few times to let the plastic absorb it

I've noticed that you can pretty much just take a brillow pad, or fine steel wool and after a few moments of light rubbing, you'll begin to notice all the carwash soap, wax, and other grit begin to come off. It pretty much takes it back to original, and finishing with some ForeverBlack or a similar product really brings back the sheen for which I believe you're searching.

Paint ... plain & simple.

All the "cleaning" & refinishing stuff need to be re-applied after short intervals. Just paint it & be done. Krylon paint for plastic.
