reservoir leaking
Did ask this last night but still on hunt for more info.........my washer reservoir on my rhd uk model 4.0 cherokee 1997 is leaking.pour in and it's gone in minutes out the other end somewhere..........how hard is it to access and remove and what is the likely cause and remedy of this.........any help thanks Last edited by wormay; Jan 20, 2012 at 01:17 PM.
If it's anything like mine ('95 XJ) it's easy to remove, look for screws, unhook hoses, pick it up. Find the hole in the canister, let the canister dry then you can fix it with a number of techniques depending on the damage.
You could either replace it completely, use some epoxy resin that will harden over the hole, a plastic welder, fiberglass body filler would probably work, if it's a crack you may get away with getting some PVC glue from your local hardware store and caking it on and letting it cure for a long while then cake some more on and let that dry. You may even be able to use a good RTV sealant, but make sure you let it sit overnight. You don't want that stuff in your washer system. Can harden inside the tubes and you'll have even more problems.
