Default Replacing steering column in a '91?

So I need to replace my steering column due to a loose tilt mechanism... the previous owner really messed things up trying to fix it and now I have no horn among other issues. Just wondering if I need to specifically look for a column out of another '91 or would one from any '91-'94 work? I know the columns are a bit different before 1990 and after 1995 so I'm guessing neither of those would work.

Also, I think my Jeep has factory cruise control, it doesn't work and I don't really need it to, but do I need to get a column from an XJ that also has cruise? I don't know if the wiring connectors may be different depending on whether or not it has CC.

I have a tilt column and I'd like to replace it with a non-tilt one, but I'm guessing if I find one without tilt it won't have CC either.

tilt and cruise control were separate options.

91-94 should work.

The column in your Jeep was most likely made by Saginaw, widely used by AMC/Jeep and GM. The CC is wired seperately. A non cruise column will work in your Jeep. I did the same for mine a few years ago. Alot of Buicks and Pontiacs use the very same column believe it or not from the late '80s and very early '90s. As for a non tilt, Im sure youll have no issues with electricial.

The reason I want to replace the whole column is it has a bunch of other issues... the horn doesn't work, I have to hold down the multifunction switch to signal right and it doesn't auto cancel a left signal, and the previous owner just smashed the plastic trim covering the tilt mechanisim instead of taking it apart to tighten it.

That being said... I'm having a hard time finding a '91-'94 column so in the meantime I guess I'll have to tighten it up.
